(IN-PERSON) For the first time at LTC we invite you to join a transformative 3-day series designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of how the mind works. The aim is to gradually let go of destructive patterns of thought and behaviour while cultivating a healthy sense of self-confidence and a deep, compassionate connection with others.

Participants are invited to reflect on their attitudes, perceptions, and emotional patterns. By exploring the workings of our own minds and the nature of our interdependence with others and the world around us, we begin to see how deeply connected our inner and outer realities truly are. We examine both logical and scientific perspectives on the nature of the self and our relationships with others.

Ultimately, the transformation we foster in ourselves contributes to building more compassionate cultures. How can one person influence a whole culture? The answer lies in understanding interdependence. Every action we take, every choice, interaction, and intention, affects others and the broader environment, this principle of cause and effect lies at the heart of all life, reminding us that our individual transformation ripples outward in meaningful ways.

A Journey Through 12 Transformative Sessions

This course was developed by FDCW, and inspired by the Creating Compassionate Cultures program by Pam Cayton. It takes you on a comprehensive journey through understanding the mind, transforming patterns, and living with purpose. Each session is carefully designed to build upon the previous one, creating a cohesive path of inner transformation.

The course explores three core pathways: Knowledge, Strength, and Compassion, guiding participants toward a happier, more meaningful life through inner growth and warmer connections with others. The course follows a proven structure inspired by the Creating Compassionate Cultures program, incorporating mindfulness practices, guided reflections, and group discussions to deepen learning and integration.

Today’s Topics Workshop #2

Opening the Heart

Introduces three key practices for training the mind. Participants learn how mindfulness, reflection, and inquiry can reshape thought patterns, increase clarity, and support emotional balance through neuroplasticity.

Encourages participants to explore the motivations behind their actions. By cultivating awareness of intention, they learn to align choices with deeper values and live with greater purpose and clarity.

Deepens understanding of how all experiences arise through interconnected causes and conditions. Participants reflect on their place within a wider web of relationships, fostering a sense of connection and responsibility.

Explores the nature of impermanence and the opportunities it brings. Participants are invited to reflect on change as a constant in life and to develop resilience and openness to new possibilities.
