As English speakers, we chant our prayers in Tibetan and rely on translations. Even if we understand the general meaning, important subtleties are lost. The Tibetan language has an ability to pour a lot of meaning into a single word. Once we learn the key words and phrases, we will be able to chant them in Tibetan and understand their meaning.
