Ven. Lozang Lhagsam

Title: FPMT Registered Teacher

Ven. Lozang Lhagsam has over 30 years of experience in palliative care, having worked as a registered nurse for most of her career before becoming a Buddhist nun in 2000. She brings together the wisdom of the Buddha and the insights of modern medicine, supporting many people—and even her cat—through illness and death, and conducting funerals for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. Since 1996, she has been actively involved with Cittamani Hospice on the Sunshine Coast and Karuna Hospice in Brisbane, including serving on the steering committee that helped establish Cittamani. She continues to volunteer with clients and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Palliative Care from Flinders University.
