Lamrim Chenmo: Insight Chapter

(ONLINE) The final instalment of the Lamrim Chenmo series examines the nature of reality with a master class in Buddhist Middle Way philosophy and meditation.
The Insight chapter sets forth a detailed explanation of the correct view of emptiness. In this final chapter of his text, Lama Tsong Khapa explained the way to correctly identify the mistaken object grasped at by our ignorance as well as the different reasoning taught by Indian masters like Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti for refuting it.
The Insight Chapter explains the practice of superior insight, or wisdom, the pinnacle of the bodhisattvaโs perfections. All the Buddhist practices are for the purpose of developing wisdom, for it is wisdom that liberates from the cycle of suffering. All other positive actions, from morality to deep states of meditation, have no power to liberate unless they are accompanied by insight into the nature of reality.
This is in-depth study group meets fortnightly, and is best suited for established students with some background in Buddhist philosophy, who will find a deeper appreciation of the emptiness teaching through this course.
“All afflictions are overcome
Aryadeva
through overcoming ignorance.
When dependent arising is seen,
ignorance does not arise.
It is the only doorway to peace;
it destroys wrong views;
it captures the attention of all buddhasโ
this is called selflessness.โ
