(ONLINE) Join us over four mornings in a retreat dedicated to the swift and compassionate liberator whose blessings are known for clearing obstacles, easing fear, and revitalising spiritual practice. Immerse yourself in Taraโ€™s transformative energy through meditation, offerings, and chanting the 21 Praises โ€” a practice renowned for bringing protection, healing, and timely support in moments of need. Whether youโ€™re seeking inner clarity, help through a difficult period, or a deeper connection to your path, these sessions open the door to Taraโ€™s powerful activity and the profound peace that arises when compassion moves swiftly on your behalf.

Arya Tara embodies the enlightened activity of compassion. Often called โ€œShe Who Saves,โ€ she is renowned as a swift protector from all fears โ€” from anxiety and stress to the deeper traumas that shape our lives. This practice works directly with the inner causes of suffering, helping to transform the emotional patterns that disrupt both daily life and spiritual progress.

Taraโ€™s name means โ€œstarโ€ or โ€œshe who ferries across.โ€ Appearing in female form as a bodhisattva of compassion, she shines especially brightly as Green Tara, the aspect of compassion in action โ€” ever ready to step down from her lotus throne to assist beings in their moments of need.

Because Taraโ€™s activity is swift and unobstructed, her practice is especially effective for clearing obstacles, resolving conflicts, revitalising spiritual energy, and receiving support in times of crisis. Lama Zopa Rinpoche shares that many people experience tangible benefits from Tara practice: healing from illness, protection from untimely death, finding work, improving relationships, successful business ventures, and even conceiving children. Through Tara practice, one can obtain both temporal happiness and the ultimate success of enlightenment.

During each session we will chant the praises of the 21 Taras, make offerings, recite Taraโ€™s mantra, and through meditation connect with Taraโ€™s liberating energy.

Everyone is welcome to join the retreat – for just one session or all four mornings. Whether you are new to meditation or returning to a much-loved Tara practice, these sessions offer guided visualisation, quiet contemplation, chanting, and meaningful connection.

We conclude every session with personal dedications โ€” for the sick and vulnerable, for healing the planet, for the end of all wars, for the long life of our precious teachers, and for the fulfilment of our Dharma aspirations. These dedications are an integral part of generating and directing the immense merit created by Tara practice.

โ€œAll the actions of the buddhas have manifested in this female aspect of buddha, Tara the Liberator, in order to help living beings to accomplish successfully both temporal and ultimate happiness.โ€

Lama Zopa Rinpoche

This retreat offers a rare chance to rest in that blessing and to open ourselves to Taraโ€™s quick help and compassionate activity.
