Christmas Eve Puja

Join us for our annual Shakyamuni Buddha puja, offering all the Christmas trees and lights in the world! We make many elaborate and beautiful offerings and recite praises, all in English with the traditional Tibetan tunes. We offer chai and community dedications for the year, and at the end we strew of flowers to the ten directions. Don’t miss the best Buddhist party you could ever come to!

Guru Puja 600th Anniversary (Epic Version)

A special version of this puja to celebrate the 600th anniversary of Lama Tsong Khapa! We will include the bath offering to cleanse broken samaya with the guru, and chant the traditional Tibetan tunes that are said to come from the dakinis and bless one’s mind-stream. This offering ceremony is rich in symbolism, and includes lineage prayers, bath offering, re-taking one’s vows, chai tea with dedications, and Tsog offering. Everyone is welcome at this epic version (around 3 hours) of the Guru Puja – it is a profound yet joyous spiritual celebration!

Art of Living & Dying Well

Death comes to all living beings, and at that crucial time of transition from one life to the next, we may not know how to best help our loved ones or ourselves. Practical advice on preparing for death and assisting others through this time (including our pets). Practices to do, advice for the ‘non-religious’, and how to make both our life and our death meaningful. This course only comes around every couple of years, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Death Over Dinner

THIS EVENT IS BOOKED OUT! The dinner table is the most forgiving place for difficult conversation. Join Ven. Lozang Trin-la in the international movement to encourage people to have an important and intimate discussion over a delicious dinner. Ven. Trin-la works at a hospice and can share valuable insights. She also has a passion for great food, and she will be creating a delicious 3-courses dinner for the evening. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL!

Drop-in Meditation & Chai

We have a new format this year! Spend a relaxed morning enjoying two guided meditations to relax and revive! The first is a short mindfulness and breathing meditation, including settling the posture. After a short break enjoy the main meditation of guided visualisation and chanting purification with the Buddha. Join us for chai tea together in reception afterwards.

Vegetarian Dinner, DVD & Prayers for the Dear Animals

Bring along your favourite vegetarian dish and join our pot-luck dinner to commemorate World Vegetarian Day and World Animal Day. We will watch a wonderful 30 min DVD, and offer a short prayer ceremony for all the beings in the animal realm, with community dedications at the end. You can dedicate for your own pets (past and living), and for the freedom and safety of animals everywhere. Bookings appreciated!
