(HYBRID) Step away from the busyness of everyday life and discover the relief of a quieter mind. In this weekend retreat, Venerable Losang Gendun will share his experience and knowledge on these simple yet profound meditation practices that help settle the constant stream of thoughts and distractions. Participants will be guided through a sequence of practices such as calm-abiding (shamatha), Mahamudra meditation, and analytical contemplations.

With a warm and practical teaching style, Venerable Gendun presents these profound methods in ways that are easy to understand and directly applicable to daily life. The retreat offers a rare opportunity to slow down, settle the mind, and explore meditation in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Over the weekend, Ven. Gendun will lead us through meditations calm-abiding (shamatha) meditation, and share practical techniques to relax the body, steady the attention, and give the mind the space to rest.

With clear guidance and a supportive environment, even complete beginners can quickly feel the benefits of learning how to pause and be present. From this foundation, Venerable Gendun introduces Mahamudra meditationโ€”an approach that helps us look directly at the nature of our own awareness. Participants will be led gently led toward a deeper experience of clarity, presence, and inner ease.

โ€œThe human mind has the potential for infinite development. If you can discover, even in a small way, that true satisfaction comes from your mind, you will realize that you can extend this experience without limit and that it is possible to discover everlasting satisfaction.โ€

Lama Thubten Yeshe

Alongside these practices, analytical meditations will explore timeless Buddhist insights on topics such as compassion, perspective, and the nature of thoughts and emotions. These contemplations help transform meditation from something we only do on the cushion into a powerful way of understanding ourselves and relating to the world.

Whether you are completely new to meditation or have years of experience, this retreat offers practical tools for cultivating a calmer mind, deeper wisdom, and a more open heart.

โ€œVenerable Gendun has a strong commitment to living and promoting the โ€˜examined lifeโ€™, in which the false security of dogmas is replaced by a fearless heart and inquisitive mind.โ€
