(IN-PERSON) A short 4-week course where everyone can learn to relax and practice the many meditation techniques available to us. Discover how to sit comfortably, overcome distractions, and bring an inner calm to daily life. And ultimately, create the internal structure for one’s own complete liberation from the ups and downs of cycle existence and the dawning of an enlightened mind.

This short 4-week course is ideal for beginners unsure where to get started, as well as newcomers wanting to stabilise their practice. Itโs a great way to receive on-going instruction, check in how you are going, and the support of week-to-week instruction and encouragement on your new meditation practice! Come along and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of our meditation hall, and the company of like-minded practitioners.
You will be introduced to different meditations including:
- Breathing meditations such as counting the breath and nine-round breathing
- Mindfulness practices such as bare attention, mind like the sky, and mind like the ocean
- Experiential visualisations such as body of light and purification with light
- Analytical reflections such as cultivating equanimity and transforming negative experiences into positive ones
The meditations can be used in all traditions, both Buddhist and non-Buddhist, and there is no expectation that you become a Buddhist. Each class will include a short guided meditation, personal instruction, and plenty of time for questions.
