DISCOVERING BUDDHISM: Introduction to Tantra
535 Old Cleveland Road
In-depth study goes at a slower pace, giving participants time to integrate, questions and apply the teachings. Discovering Buddhism gives participants a solid footing in the practice of Mahayana Buddhism, outlining the essential points, and providing an experiential taste of the Buddha’s teachings.
Other in-depth courses include training in Buddhist rituals, on-going study groups, and weekend workshops on intermediate topics such as bodhicitta, emptiness, calm abiding and tong-len.
Examine what the nature of the mind is, and how it creates all happiness and suffering. Learn how to transform destructive thoughts and attitudes. Explore the difference between mind and brain, mind as the creator of our experiences, and the implications of possessing a mind with no beginning or end.
How do we practice kindness and compassion? How do we use these innate qualities to generate Bodhicitta, the heart of the Buddha's teaching.
If you are unsure whether you are ready for this program, please feel free to sit in on a few classes and see if they suit you.
