SUMMARY:Gendun Meditation Group: Resting in the Nature of Mind
DESCRIPTION:(IN-PERSON) Step away from the busyness of everyday life and
discover the relief of a quieter mind. In these monthly get-togethers w
e will practice the simple yet profound meditation practices introduced
by Ven. Gendun during his visit to LTC. Discover how to settle the const
ant stream of thoughts and distractions\, and become aware of the natura
l luminous nature of the mind. Be guided through several meditations\, e
njoy excerpts from Ven. Gendun’s inspiring teachings\, and share with
small group discussions. These afternoons offer a rare opportunity to sl
ow down and explore meditation in a supportive and welcoming environment
.\n\n\n\nWith clear guidance and a supportive environment\, even complet
e beginners can quickly feel the benefits of learning how to pause and b
e present. Participants will be led gently led toward a deeper experienc
 e of clarity\, presence\, and inner ease.\n\n\n\nAlongside these practic
es\, analytical meditations will explore timeless Buddhist insights on t
opics such as compassion\, perspective\, and the nature of thoughts and
emotions. These contemplations help transform meditation from something
we only do on the cushion into a powerful way of understanding ourselves
and relating to the world.\n\n\n\nWhy Attend?\n\n\n\n\nMeditating toget
her is clearer and easier. We enjoy the support of group practice\, just
as sweeping the floor with a twig is so difficult but together as a broo
m we can accomplish purification and merit together very quickly\n\n\n\n
Experiential practice brings clarity and warm-heartedness.Meditation is
an integral component of our path. Study and familiarisation (meditation
) together mean we avoid the hard-heartedness of mere intellectual succe
ss.\n\n\n\nTaking the time to integrate the Dharma.Regular get-togethers
establish a community and create meaningful connection\, and will help
our practice carry us through the ups and downs of life.\n\n\n\n\nWhat t
o Expect\n\n\n\nWe will have two sessions with tea and cake in between.
The afternoon will include:\n\n\n\n\nGuided meditations led by senior LT
C students\, from meditations provided by Ven. Gendun\n\n\n\nVideo excer
pts from the teaching with Ven. Gendun given here at LTC during his visi
t\n\n\n\nSmall group sharing of 2-3 people to discuss the teaching\n\n\n
\nAddress questions and wrap-up to summarise the afternoon and next step
s for home meditation\n\n\n\n\nWhether you are completely new to meditat
ion or have years of experience\, everyone is welcome to join the Gendun
Meditation Group\, offering practical tools for cultivating a calmer mi
nd\, deeper wisdom\, and a more open heart.\n\n\n\n“The human mind has
the potential for infinite development. If you can discover\, even in a
small way\, that true satisfaction comes from your mind\, you will real
ize that you can extend this experience without limit and that it is pos
sible to discover everlasting satisfaction.”- Lama Thubten Yeshe\n\n\n

and Next Steps\n\n\n\nFor the rest of 2026 we will explore Ven\, Gendun
s’s teachings from his visit in May\, taking the time to practice and
integrate his teachings into our own lived experience. This will be held
monthly on a Sunday afternoon.\n\n\n\n\nDates for all events in this se

en. Gendun will return to start us off on the FPMT In Depth Meditation T
 raining (IDMT)\, a four-year program offering meditators long-term suppo
rt to progress on their meditative practice and experience the nature of
reality and bodhicitta. The program is tailored for modern practitioner
s to develop a sustainable and rewarding meditation practice that can le
ad us to a fully liberated mind. It emphasises direct experience\, perso
 nal transformation\, and real-world applicability.\n\n\n\nStudents inter
ested in joining the first year of this program of The Buddha Project\,
developed under the tutelage of Ven. Gendun\, must do so through an FPMT
centre. This training is not available to individuals\, as a fundamenta
l factor of success is the human connection of meditating and traversing
  the path together.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming Guided M
