SUMMARY:Annual EXTENSIVE Medicine Buddha Puja
DESCRIPTION:(HYBRID) The main purpose of this puja is to stop war immedi
 ately\, to eliminate famine and disease\, and for all the dangers of ear
 th\, water\, fire\, and wind\, to be pacified immediately. To fill the w
 hole world with perfect peace and happiness\, including enlightenment\, 
 and to generate loving kindness\, compassion and bodhicitta in the heart
  of all sentient beings.\n\n\n\nAt the request of students we hold this 
 puja once a year\, on Medicine Buddha day\, and dedicate especially for 
 the health and long life of our gurus\, as well as for the health and su
 ccess of all LTC members and benefactors. Everyone will have an opportun
 ity to make personal dedications both in person and online.\n\n\n\nThis 
 extensive puja addresses the karmic causes of disease\, and helps us con
 nect with the universal healing energy of enlightenment. It is recommend
 ed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche as particularly effective during difficult time
 s.\n\n\n\nIt is a moving and deeply-felt ceremony\, with in-depth prayer
 s and requests. Similar to the regular Medicine Buddha puja\, and  offer
 ed in English\, but also with quotes from sutra\, many more offerings\, 
 mantra recitation\, and special dedication prayers. \n\n\n\n“The Medic
 ine Buddha encompasses all the buddhas. This means that when we practice
  the seven-limb prayer and make offerings with the seven limbs\, we rece
 ive the same merit as we would if we had made offerings to all the buddh
 as. Similarly\, when we recite the mantra of Medicine Buddha\, we collec
 t unbelievable merit just as when we offer the seven-limb practice to Me

 ot only for healing physical illness—it also creates the optimum condi
 tions for flourishing in our Dharma practice and success in daily life. 
 The nectar of Dharma creates harmony and fosters a positive environment 
 for inner growth and transformation.\n\n\n\n“Healing our mind is cruci
 al\, because otherwise our problems\, which are beginningless\, become e
 ndless. We may use medicine or some other external means to heal a parti
 cular disease\, but the disease will return unless we heal our mind. If 
 we do nothing to heal our mind\, there is always the danger that we will
  again create the cause of the disease\, that we will repeat the actions
  that caused us to become physically unhealthy. We will then experience
