Vajrasattva Tsog for First Wheel-Turning Day

Virtual Events Virtual Events

Monday 1 August @ 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

First Wheel-Turning Day celebrates the first teaching given by the Buddha upon his enlightenment. It is one of the most auspicious days of the Buddhist calendar, where the merit is greatly multiplied. This tsog offering is a short yet profound ceremony of massive purification and merit, especially purifying any broken commitments, and dedicating to our gurus long life.

We chant the beautiful Tibetan tunes, make offerings and recite the 100 Vajrasattva mantra – a profound method to meditate on emptiness – the ultimate purification.

Tsog means “gathering”. By gathering together to offer tsog we are making space. When the right space opens, realisations come as if magnetically attracted. Even if some of us are gathering across the digital divide, in our heart we gather together the things we’re offering, and offer across space and across time.

Today is also International Sangha Day, where we honour the monks and nuns of the FPMT. All donations will go towards our LTC sangha.

LTC Sangha Fund

$8,411 of $10,000 raised

Our wonderful LTC nuns look after us so well, we would like to look after them! Part of our practice as Buddhists is to make offerings to the Sangha Jewel, and the LTC Sangha Fund is on way we can fulfil our refuge commitments and also show our gratitude. The fund will help our nuns to cover the transport and accommodation costs of retreats, purchase Dharma books, get their car serviced, or help meet unexpected medical bills.
