STARTING TODAY – Three Essentials For Life: Understanding, Focus & Ethics
Tuesday 16 August @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Discover the three essential trainings we all need to achieve success in life, harmony in relationships, and freedom from emotional turmoil.
What if we could develop our life skills not just for career success or family harmony, but for complete liberation from the ups and downs of daily existence and liberation from all suffering and problems? The Buddha taught three essential skills for life and enlightenment – the Three Higher Trainings.
Session 1: Three essential skills we can all train in to ensure success in daily activities, bring purpose to our life, and not get distracted or sabotaged along the way. How these three trainings work together, and how they can become ‘higher’ trainings that support our progress towards liberation and even enlightenment.
Session 2: Understanding is like a very sharp axe to cut through confusion. With the clarity of wisdom we can correctly diagnose our problems, find the right solution, and also work towards severing the root cause of all problems forever!
Session 3: Focus is like two strong arms holding our attention on the topic. We need strong and correct concentration to see an idea through, to not harm anyone in the process, and to have the presence of mind to not panic, but use our wisdom when we need it!
Session 4: Ethics is focused on the body, the foundation and support for everything we do. We literally need to ’embody’ our ethics, and develop them as our core strength. With this we can become safe human beings, reliable and incorruptible!
The classes are sequential, but you are most welcome to join at any time, as each class features a stand-alone topic.
Presented by FPMT registered teacher:
“We need our journey through life to be stable and true, and ethics is the ground or foundation upon everything can be built. Concentration can only develop if we are free of guilt, distraction and disturbing emotions. Wisdom can only arise on the basis on concentration.”Yangsi Rinpoche
