Teachings on Refuge

What does becoming a Buddhist (or taking refuge) mean? Tonight Geshe Tsultrim will give a teaching on the meaning of going for Refuge, as preparation for the annual refuge ceremony next week. Everyone is welcome to attend this teaching to find out how to go for refuge, what the three jewels of refuge are, and the great benefits of a continuous refuge practice.

Taking Refuge means taking the Buddha, his teachings (the Dharma), and the Sangha as one’s primary guidance and protection, and keeping the Refuge vows and commitments. Next week, Geshe Tsultrim will bestow the ceremony in an unbroken lineage from the time of the Buddha. New students can take refuge for the first time, and established students will be able to renew their vows.

Everyone is welcome! If you are unsure about making the refuge commitment, we encourage you to come along and enjoy this information evening and teaching to find out what refuge means.
