Tara Puja

Arya Tara is a manifestation of compassionate activity. She is known as the mother of all the buddhas, as she represents perfect, ultimate wisdom. This ceremony is particularly helpful in removing obstacles, help in emergencies, resolving conflicts and energising stagnation.

It involves chanting praises to the 21 Taras, making long mandala offerings, strewing flowers and many offerings. This traditional offering ceremony is chanted in English, Sanskrit and Tibetan, and is rich in symbolism. It is an excellent practice for removing negativities and obstacles, and for reconnecting with your own positive energy. You can dedicate the puja to friends, relatives, the sick, or the success of a business or a particular project. Remember to BYO mandala set (if you have one). All welcome, even if you have never come to a puja before! No need to book, just come along.

The Wisdom Mother is invoked in times of personal difficulties, health problems, and when there is need for quick wisdom action. Closely associated with Chenrezig, Tara is virtually inseparable from the Buddha of compassion. She personifies the feminine aspect of his solicitude and actively assists him. She manifests in many different forms to benefit all beings. To recite the praises to the Twenty-One Taras is considered immeasurably helpful in all adverse circumstances. In the aspect of Cittamani Tara she benefits quickly the mind of those who pray to her. Gifted with a variety of powers, Tara is the guardian of all fears. She arrives, ready to put to right the most terrible of situations.
