Sutra Recitations on Lord Buddha’s Descent From Tushita
Saturday 4 November @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Today we celebrate the holy day of Buddha’s Descent from Tushita Heaven, with a group recitation of the Diamond Cutter Sutra. Merit created on this day is greatly multiplied, so it’s a perfect opportunity to re-focus our Dharma practice and altruistic intention.
We will also be chanting the Heart Sutra, reciting short praises, and offering chai tea with personal and community dedications.
The recitation helps to purify one’s speech, calm and harmonise the mind, and bring the blessings of the Buddha’s wisdom. By reciting we remove obstacles and gather the inner energy and resources to be able to take teachings in person from our precious guru.
You will have the opportunity if you wish, to make special prayers for sick family members, for the success of projects and endeavours, the removal of obstacles, and the flourishing of Dharma and the resources for a meaningful life.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave us specific advice when we first moved to Camp Hill, that in order for the centre to survive and to flourish we needed great stores of merit. One of the practices he recommended was for us to do Tara Puja and Medicine Buddha Puja together as a group. So even if you cannot be there physically, you can still be very much involved. In this way, we can all contribute to the continuation of our wonderful LTC.
Many of us in the modern world are time-poor, but this need not be an obstacle to participating in the spiritual heart of Langri Tangpa Centre – the pujas and practices. Reading dedications from our people that couldn’t make it on the night helps to develop a sense of community, and brings a face to the dedication “for all sentient beings”.
This ceremony will be led by:
