To commemorate World Vegetarian Day and World Animal Day, we are holding a special sutra recitation dedicated especially for all the beings in the animal realm. We will have three short recitations, and special community dedications at the end. You can dedicate for your own pets (past and living), and for the freedom and safety of animals everywhere.
The dear animals and ‘darling ants’ are particularly dear to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, who has recited countless texts at animal sanctuaries, offered extensive animal liberation practices, and personally read many sutras to the animals at centres around the world.
This recitation for the dear animals forms part of our commitment and thanks to Sheryl Delacour, who was a major benefactor of Langri Tangpa Centre. As part of Sheryl’s legacy, we dedicate special events throughout the year to her main concern and passion in life – animal welfare.
The recitation helps to purify one’s own speech, to calm and harmonise the mind, and bring the blessings of all the Buddhas’ wisdom. By reciting we remove obstacles and gather the inner energy and resources to be able to take teachings in person from our precious guru.
