Today we celebrate Descent from Tushita with a group recitation of the Diamond Cutter Sutra, dedicated to the health and long life of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Merit created on this day is greatly multiplied, so it’s a perfect opportunity to re-focus our Dharma practice and altruistic intention. We will also recite several other short sutras, such as chanting the Heart Stura, and reciting praises to emptiness and dependent arising, as well as offer chai tea and make community dedications. No need to book, just come along!
The recitation helps to purify one’s speech, calm and harmonise the mind, and bring the blessings of the Buddha’s wisdom. By reciting we remove obstacles and gather the inner energy and resources to be able to take teachings in person from our precious guru.
