Our pets can mean the world to us, but to make this relationship truly worthwhile we must connect them to their potential for liberation. Just loving them is not enough, we must ensure they are no longer born as a mute animal, but are able to enjoy the wisdom of the Dharma in the future. Imprints from the sound of mantras are able to penetrate deeply into the animal psyche, as they do not have the intellectual barriers that humans do. In this talk Geshe-la will explain how we can use everyday activities to connect our pets to the Dharma, and how we can best help them as they reach the end of their life.
