What if a Buddha filled in a mindfulness questionnaire?

This is one of the questions we’ll answer in a new 4-part series to give you a unique “over the shoulder” view of the current state of play in modern mindfulness research. You’ll get a first-hand look at the pitfalls, problems, and potential in bringing these ancient tools to the modern world. Learn how you can best interpret the media reports on mindfulness, and how the intersection of Buddhism and science can be of the most benefit to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
Explore the important meeting and departure points of Buddhist and contemporary mindfulness through the unique perspective of a Buddhist at the coal-face of modern mindfulness research.

You’ll learn:
– The actual difference between Buddhist and secular mindfulness, and why it matters to all of us.
– Simple mindfulness techniques and how to use them for emotional balance.
– How to navigate a path through the mindfulness industry and find the approach that works best for you.
– Ways to avoid light-weight approaches and get the most benefit from your efforts.
– How many grains of salt to take with media reports of mindfulness research.
– Exciting developments in contemplative science happening right now!

This is for you if you are:
– Interested in meditation but don’t want to be Buddhist
– A Buddhist who wants more tangible effects from your practice
– Interested in research and/or spiritual traditions
– Hopeful of a better future for our planet
