The class begins with settling the posture and a simple mindfulness meditation, which is a non-religious and universally effective method to calm the mind. There is no need to be a Buddhist to come along and enjoy the meditation! This is followed by a short talk given by the LTC western nuns. There is an opportunity to ask questions and discus a Buddhist perspective on current events.
The second meditation is focused on the Buddha and includes a gentle guided visualisation, and chanting the Shakyamuni Buddha mantra that can help overcome disturbing emotions, stress and negative karma. We end with heartfelt dedications for healing, for oneself, loved ones, and the world.
