Medicine Buddha Easter Retreat

Virtual Events Virtual Events

Monday 18 April @ 10:00 am 11:30 am

Connect with the universal healing energy of the Buddha to help avert war and natural disasters, pray for all the people and animals who have recently lost their lives, purify one’s own inner and outer obstacles and causes of sickness, and bless your medicines.

Calling on the seven healing Buddhas, reciting their names, and reciting the mantras brings incredible spiritual power to our current global situation. It can help heal our heart so we can direct our energies to helping others, in whatever way we can, without burning out or becoming cynical.

The Medicine Buddha practice is also emotionally energising for us personally, as it helps us to pacify inner turmoil and remove obstacles on our own spiritual journey.

An online retreat like this – meditating together across time and space – and using the deep psychology of visualisation and chanting, addresses the inner causes of sickness and stress, and create the most positive conditions for healing. This meditation is not only a very powerful method for healing and increasing healing powers both for oneself and others, but also for overcoming the inner sicknesses of craving, hatred, and confusion.

There will be an opportunity to make personal dedications for friends and family, the sick and vulnerable, healing the planet, eradicating COVID, and fore the end of all wars and conflicts. The blessings from Medicine Buddha prevents one from falling into the lower states of rebirth. Those already in a lower state of rebirth will be quickly liberated and will take rebirth in a precious human body.

We will also dedicate for success in our studies and our Dharma aspirations.

This retreat will be led by:

Remember to have your medicines and vitamins with you to be blessed during the ceremony.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave us specific advice when we first moved to Camp Hill, that in order for the centre to survive and to flourish we needed great stores of merit. One of the practices he recommended was for us to do Tara Puja and Medicine Buddha Puja together as a group. So even if you cannot be there physically, you can still be very much involved. In this way, we can all contribute to the continuation of our wonderful LTC.

Many of us in the modern world are time-poor, but this need not be an obstacle to participating in the spiritual heart of Langri Tangpa Centre – the pujas and practices. Reading dedications from our people that couldn’t make it on the night helps to develop a sense of community, and brings a face to the dedication “for all sentient beings”.

“The seven Medicine Buddhas are not only very powerful in healing disease, but in purification, for both the living and the dead. The Medicine Buddha practice can purify even those who have already died and liberate them from suffering. It is also powerful in bringing success, both temporary and ultimate.”
