Beautiful in its simplicity and direct in its approach, this practice includes prayers and clarifying light meditation on the seven wisdoms.
Draw closer to the extensive qualities of the great scholar and yogi, Lama Tsong Khapa, with a simple yet profound practice to develop wisdom and clarity.
We focus on the seven wisdoms that cut through the darkness of confusion to increase clarity and wisdom. The seven wisdoms promote memory, understanding, and reasoning, and are crucial not only for Buddhist study, but to cut the root of suffering itself.
The meditation is based on the short Lama Tsong Khapa Guru Yoga, and it has an immediate clarifying effect on the mind. It includes the a blessing of light from Lama Tsong Khapa, and a moving praise and a glance meditation of the entire lam rim.
Lama Tsong Khapa was said to embody all aspects of a buddha – wisdom, compassion and power. He was a manifestation of Chenrezig the buddha of compassion, Manjushri the buddha of wisdom, and Vajrapani the buddha of action and skilful methods.
Lama Tsong Khapa day is one of the most important days on our calendar, and celebrating it helps us to strengthen our connection with the Lam Rim and the Gelug lineage. Guru yoga practice is the heart of the path; without it we will have no success in our Dharma study or meditation.
