Lama Tsong Khapa Day Guru Puja (epic version)

Hybrid Hybrid Events

Wednesday 29 December @ 6:30 pm 9:30 pm

Join us for special prayers and dedications on this annual celebration of the founder of the Gelug lineage. The puja contains the whole path to enlightenment, and is a profound and joyous event!

Nurture the powerful potential for spiritual growth with a ceremony rich in symbolism. Reliance on our spiritual teacher is the foundation of all spiritual progress. In the puja we pay homage to the lineage lamas and their vast qualities. The puja contains the whole path to enlightenment and creates a powerful potential of spiritual growth for the participants.

The traditional Tibetan tunes are said to come from the dakinis and bless one’s mind-stream. They carry a power and blessing in themselves, moving both the heart and the mind.

This evening will include a bath offering to cleanse broken samaya with the guru, as well as lineage prayers, re-taking vows, and tsog offering.

You will have the opportunity to make personal dedications for the well-being of friends and family, for the sick and vulnerable, for healing the planet, for the success of your studies or a projects, and for all your Dharma aspirations.

If you are coming in person, remember to BYO water bottle and your ritual implements (if you have them). If your plans change and you are unable to join us on the night, please email us for a zoom link!

Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave us specific advice when we first moved to Camp Hill, that in order for the centre to survive and to flourish we needed great stores of merit. One of the practices he recommended was for us to do Tara Puja and Medicine Buddha Puja together as a group. So even if you cannot be there physically, you can still be very much involved. In this way, we can all contribute to the continuation of our wonderful LTC.

Many of us in the modern world are time-poor, but this need not be an obstacle to participating in the spiritual heart of Langri Tangpa Centre – the pujas and practices. Reading dedications from our people that couldn’t make it on the night helps to develop a sense of community, and brings a face to the dedication “for all sentient beings”.
