Among followers of Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) is revered as an omnipresent deity or the second Buddha, and his teachings are considered sublime. Prayers to Guru Rinpoche are considered to be increasingly potent during these times of war and anxiety, and he is often invoked for protection and the overcoming of obstacles. The powerful prayers in the Guru Rinpoche puja include the Supplication to Dispel Obstacles on the Path and the Requesting Prayer to Guru Rinpoche.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche strongly advised Guru Rinpoche practice and dedicated efforts towards the goal of building as many large statues of Padmasambhava around the world as possible, in order to create the cause for peace for all beings.
This puja is powerful and evocative and employs resonant drums and musical ritual instruments. We will be inviting Guru Rinpoche into our centre to bless our activities as we prepare for the Guru Bhumtsok in March 2025, in the full knowledge that the Guru Bhumtsoks in Australia were initiated upon the advice to FPMTA National Office of Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Save the Date: UPCOMING GURU BHUMTSOK National Event 2025
Langri Tangpa Centre is honoured to have been chosen by FPMT in Australia to host the next Guru Bhumtsok event. The Guru Bhumtsok will be held in March 26th – 28th, with Geshe Tenzin Zopa leading the puja. It is expected that most, if not all, Australian geshes will attend, and special guest will be Geshe Thubten Sherab!
The Guru Bhumtsok is a free event. All funding is raised through sponsorship. As part of the sponsorship raised we will be making an offering to sangha and geshes. Places are limited to 80 people, so bookings are essential!

“My father is wisdom and my mother is voidness.
– Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava)
My country is the country of Dharma.
I am of no caste and no creed.
I am sustained by perplexity;
and I am here to destroy lust, anger and sloth.”
