GESHE ZOPA TOUR: Vajrasattva Purification & the Four Opponent Powers #2
Friday 16 June @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Practicing the Vajrasattva recitation-meditation at the end of the day prevents negative karma from multiplying. It is an unbelievably powerful method. It makes your life very light and easy and keeps you happy and peaceful inside—in your heart and in your inner life. Furthermore, it purifies not only that day’s negative karma but also that created in this life from the time you were born and in all your previous lives as well.
It is said in the teachings by Sakya Pandita that, “A wise person’s negative karma may be big, but it can easily be made small. A foolish person’s negative karma may be small, but it becomes big.” This means that somebody who knows how to do the Vajrasattva purification can make their negative karma weak, but for those who don’t know how to do this, their negative karma will become strong.
For overcoming destructive actions and defilements we need what are called the four powers, which are:
1. the power of refuge
2. the power of regret
3. the power of resolve
4. the power of the remedy
Practiced with these four opponents, the great blessing power of Vajrasattva is able to purify all negativities, repair the broken samayas and cleanse even the subtlest obscurations of the body, speech and mind enabling one realizing the primordially enlightened nature within oneself.
We welcome back Geshe Tenzin Zopa for two evenings exclusive to Langri Tangpa Centre. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy inspiration from an authentic Buddhist master! This event is ideal for those curious about Buddhism, beginners, and in-depth students alike.
“Like a car, if we don’t cover the car then it becomes full of dust the longer we leave it. But by cleaning it, by wiping the dirt, it becomes clean so fast. All the dirt goes away just in a minute or a second. The benefits of Vajrasattva practice are that all the broken vows, all the vices received are cleaned, are purified. That means our mind gradually gets developed more and more, and then after some time there’s no negative karma of breaking the vows, then we have realizations, tantric realizations, and then we achieve enlightenment.”
