Relax and recharge with an evening of meditation with the nuns! Mindfulness breathing followed by a cleansing meditation on the Buddha.
Enjoy the peaceful ambience of our meditation hall, and be guided in meditations led by the LTC nuns. Each month features a new series of guided meditations, suitable for the complete beginner, as well as a great chance to ‘top-up’ for regular students. There is no need to be a Buddhist to come along and enjoy the meditation!
The class begins with settling the posture and a simple mindfulness meditation, which is a non-religious and universally effective method to calm the mind. This is followed by a short talk given by the LTC nuns. There is an opportunity to ask questions in an informal setting, and discuss current events from a Buddhist perspective.
The second meditation is focused on the Buddha and includes a gentle guided visualisation, and chanting the Shakyamuni Buddha mantra that can help overcome disturbing emotions, stress and negative karma. We end with heartfelt dedications for healing, for oneself, loved ones, and the world.

We are not compelled to meditate by some outside agent, by other people, or by God. Rather, just as we are responsible for our own suffering, so are we solely responsible for our own cure. We have created the situation in which we find ourselves, and it is up to us to create the circumstances for our release. Therefore, as suffering permeates our life, we have to do something in addition to our regular daily routine. This “something” is spiritual practice or, in other words, meditation.Lama Zopa Rinpoche
