Monday 13 March @ 11:00 am 12:30 pm

Geshe Langri Tangpa’s short and profound teaching in just eight verses, guides us in taking the essence of this fortunate human life and not wasting one moment!

What causes our suffering? How do we empower ourselves to overcome problems? The answer is to train our minds. If our perception of ‘problem’ or ‘suffering’ is transformed we can provide ourselves with the ultimate antidote. The eight verses by Geshe Langri Tangpa are a classic spiritual text of the lojong genre (mind training) and one of the main sources of inspiration for His Holiness the Dalai Lama in his daily meditations.

In this one month series we will look at the topic through the lens of short teachings by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, or Lama Yeshe. Eddie will also incorporate western viewpoints, and lead us in checking with our own experience with questioning and discussion.

“If you neglect to protect your mind, you can neither close the door to suffering nor open the door to happiness.”

– Lama Zopa Rinpoche

We can transform any problem, even death, into happiness. The point is not to stop the experience of problems but to stop the conditions that we call ‘problems’ from disturbing our mind, and instead use them to support the spiritual path that we practice.

– Lama Zopa Rinpoche
