Become familiar with the practice of the 1000-eyed 1000-armed buddha of compassion, and a chance to clarify advice given by His Holiness.
Following the incredibly fortunate event of the livestreamed initiation given by HH the Dalai Lama into the compassionate practice of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig), we have a month to become familiar with the sadhana, and discuss the teachings and advice given by His Holiness over the two days of the ceremony. Reciting the six syllable mantra becomes a catalyst to increase our compassion, and practising as a group helps it become strong for everyone.
Whether you attended the initiation or not, whether you are Buddhist or not, whether you are religious or not, we all need compassion, love and care! This afternoon is open to everyone with a wish to develop the good heart.
We all want happiness not suffering, but many of us seek happiness from outside, and we do not look in our mind. Modern education does not pay attention to the fact that happiness and suffering depends on whether we have a controlled mind or not. His Holiness encourages us: “We need to combine intellect with a warm heart. This will help yourself and the world at large.”
