Annual EXTENSIVE Medicine Buddha Puja

Hybrid Hybrid Events

Saturday 22 June @ 6:30 pm 9:00 pm

The main purpose of this puja is to stop war immediately, to eliminate famine and disease, and for all the dangers of earth, water, fire, and wind, to be pacified immediately. To fill the whole world with perfect peace and happiness, including enlightenment, and to generate loving kindness, compassion and bodhicitta in the heart of all sentient beings.

This extensive puja addresses the karmic causes of disease, and helps us connect with the universal healing energy of enlightenment. It is recommended by Lama Zopa Rinpoche as particularly effective during these difficult times.

This extensive ceremony is similar to the regular Medicine Buddha puja offered in English, but also has quotes from sutra, more offerings, mantra recitation, and special dedication prayers.

The puja takes several hours, so we will have a few breaks and offer chai tea throughout! There will be an opportunity to make personal dedications both in person and online.

If you are attending in person, remember to BYO medicines to be blessed during the ceremony. Please ensure any offerings are commercially packaged. They will be offered to the needy at a later date.

If you are joining us from home, download the special text above (different from the regular one, but it has a very similar name!), set up some offerings, and arrange your medicines and vitamins to be blessed.

“The Medicine Buddha encompasses all the buddhas. This means that when we practice the seven-limb prayer and make offerings with the seven limbs, we receive the same merit as we would if we had made offerings to all the buddhas. Similarly, when we recite the mantra of Medicine Buddha, we collect unbelievable merit just as when we offer the seven-limb practice to Medicine Buddha.”

– Lama Zopa Rinpoche

This ceremony will be led by:
