Learn to Meditate

Buddhist meditation is about training the mind in positive habit patterns, and removing the agitation that normally disturbs our thoughts and emotions. Our courses are about learning what to meditate on, and the guided meditations are where we can put it all into practice. Meditating in a group is more powerful; it is easier to concentrate, and it can re-charge your own practice at home. Our meditations are relaxed and informal. The weekday classes include a couple of short meditations and time for questions. Weekend courses include both morning and full-day retreats. We have both cushions and chairs to sit on.

Mindful Living, Mindful Ageing

Ageing is inevitable, however our attitude can make all the difference. Research shows a positive attitude to ageing is the key to better health, life satisfaction and living longer. Join Venerable Drolkar, a grandmother and Buddhist nun to discover key principles on how to live a fully engaged life and age wisely, mindfully and gracefully.

By practicing purposeful self awareness we are less reactive to emotions such as anxiety and stress and we can find a calmer and more satisfying path through our daily life.

Meditation, Discussion & Chai

NEW Buddhist DVD's and NEW meditations on cleansing body, speech and mind! Join us for a relaxed, informal meeting every Sunday. Beginning with a 45 minute guided meditation on the Shakyamuni Buddha purification and blessing, then have an informal discussion and DVD on a Buddhist topic, and end with delicious chai tea and biscuits.

Learn to Meditate

A 4-week experiential course on the basics of meditation. Discover the benefits of meditation and practice a correct and comfortable posture. Investigate the different types of meditation and which methods suit you best, and learn how to overcome obstacles like drowsiness and distraction.

Reception and Meditation Hall opens half an hour before class and half an hour after class. The reception closes whilst class is on.
