Habits for a Happy Life

Discover how to break negative habit patterns and cultivating lasting habits for happiness. Using both Buddhist psychology and western neuroscientific techniques, discover strategies to effectively break bad habit patterns, purify past behaviour, and encourage positive habits that bring peace and happiness.

We learn practical methods to recognise and deal with destructive habits - be they to do with physical activity and how we treat others, to do with speech and how we communicate with others, or to do with our own mind, our attitudes, thoughts and feelings. After we have deconstructed our negative behaviour, we can replace it with constructive activities, by using the Four Opponent Powers.

Topics include:

  • what triggers our negative habits and compulsions
  • how the behavioural law of cause and effect (karma) works, and what we can do about it
  • simple techniques to cultivate positive mental habits
