Affiliated with FPMT

Langri Tangpa Centre is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT)

Langri Tangpa Centre is a teaching and meditation centre in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. We provide a friendly and supportive environment for learning and putting into practice the teachings of the Buddha.

Langri Tangpa Centre was founded in 1982, and is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). Our principal teachers are HH the Dalai Lama, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

We offer classes in meditation, yoga, emotional balance, introduction to Buddhism, and regular teachings with touring Tibetan Lamas. Our centre is open to everyone with an interest in making their life happy and meaningful. There is no need to be a Buddhist to benefit from the courses on offer, and we encourage questioning and open dialogue.

We have an extensive beginners curriculum that runs in both the mornings and evenings. We welcome beginners, and there is always time for questions. We suggest you start with a beginner's course or a meditation eveing, and then later hop into the very popular 3-year Discovering Buddhism course. Pujas (offering ceremonies) and retreats help to integrate practice and theory. We also offer weekly yoga classes, comprehensive home study courses on CD, non-religious courses on ethics, emotions and mindfulness, and hold regular social and community events.

We have an extensive lending library for members, and a Dharma Shop with books, statues, prayer flags and other practitioner needs.

If you can't decide where to start, just give us a call and we and we can explain the program further. Or, try the tag cloud below and discover the current courses on offer.
