A relaxing afternoon spent painting the small flat-backed statues of the buddhas (tsa-tsas). Just by painting these simple statues you can calm the mind, develop your concentration, and begin to relate to the enlightened qualities of the buddhas you are painting. We are transforming the statues of Lama Tsong Khapa for our library wall.
You don’t need any artistic skill to enjoy this activity! Although they are relatively simple statues, just by concentrating on the holy form and contemplating the qualities of the buddha, you can draw those qualities into reality, brush-stroke by brush-stroke. This is an immensely enjoyable activity, and a nice way to socialise with other LTC students.
All the paints are supplied. We already have some of these in the downstairs retreat room of varied colours and designs. Once completed, you can make a donation and take your tsa-tsa home, or you can leave it to become part of the display wall in our library!
Bookings appreciated but you can also just come along on the day. Suggested donation $10.
