A workshop on everything you ever wanted to know about Tibetan Buddhist ritual but were afraid to ask! Learn how to offer the long mandala – a joyful and extremely satisfying practice of building up the 3-tiered rice and jewels offering that represents an entire and perfect world system. Also, discover how to set up your own altar and offer water bowls, and the meaning behind these activities. Practice the long and short prostrations and the visualizations accompanying this practice. Discover gompa etiquette, how to treat the sangha, and how to relate to the lamas so you are both respectful and comfortable.
We only run it every couple of years, so don’t miss out! Bookings are essential at least a week in advance, so we can prepare enough practice materials for everyone. Suggested donation $108 to help us cover costs. Participants receive a mandala started set, comprehensive notes and the tunes. Led by registered FPMT teacher, Miffi Maxmillion.
**The culmination of this workshop is putting it all together in the Tara Puja on Tuesday 29 August (6.30 pm). This will be a beginner’s puja, and there will be plenty of time to practice the long mandala together as a group.
