Today we celebrate Descent from Tushita with a group recitation of the Diamond Cutter Sutra, dedicated to the health and long life of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Merit created on this day is greatly multiplied, so it’s a perfect opportunity to re-focus our Dharma practice and altruistic intention. We recite several other short sutras and prayers, offer chai tea, and make community dedications. No need to book, just come along!
The recitation helps to purify ones’ speech, calm and harmonise the mind, and bring the blessings of the Buddha’s wisdom. By reciting we remove obstacles and gather the inner energy and resources to be able to take teachings in person from our precious guru.
Each year, Khandro-la checks up to see which practices the FPMT students should do to ensure the health and long life of our precious guru, Lama Zopa Rinpoche. At the end of the year the recitations from all the centres around the world will be collected and offered to Rinpoche at the annual long life puja. Joining the recitations for Rinpoche will also help create the causes to be able to attend his teachings in Bendigo from Easter 2018!
