Join Langri Tangpa Centre at the Brisbane Pride Festival Rally, March and Fair Day this year to support the LGBTIQA+ community! Come and join the LTC family for the Rally, and march down Brunswick Street under our new Bodhisattva Pride banner. We hope to see you at our stall in the park! (If you would like to volunteer on the day, contact us via Volunteer Opportunities to get involved!)
The Brisbane Pride Festival Rally and March is a tradition going back 27 years. Though their roots are in community protest, the Rally and March have evolved into a demonstration of unity and inclusivity. Many individuals, groups and allies participate to demonstrate celebrate their identities. The 2017 Pride March and Rally will see thousands of the LGBTIQA+ community gather to hear leaders speak about important issues currently facing the community for the Rally.
Rally and March
Meet us at the Rally at Brunswick Street between Ann and McLaughlin Street, and join us in marching down Brunswick Street to New Farm park where we will have a small LTC community stall with brochures and information to hand out.
Join us under the Langri Tangpa Centre PRIDE banner in marching down Brunswick Street! The Buddhist flag (right) debuted in Sri Lanka in 1855 and was adopted internationally in 1952. The rainbow pride flag, designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978, has become a symbol of LGBTQI+ hope and progress worldwide.
- Meet from 9.30 am
- Rally and speeches at 10 am
- March down Brunswick Street at 10.30 am
Can you volunteer at our stall during the day?
(We now have enough volunteers, but still need people to join us in the march!) We will need around six people to help out from around midday to 4pm, and a few people to arrive early Saturday morning to put up our shelter in the park. If you are interested in helping out on the day please email Jane Willis from the volunteer listing or on email@example.com.
